Support our scholarship Program for women conductors

The scholarship fund for this particular workshop will provide encouragement for women conductors in particular, who may not otherwise take the risk of applying, and who might not decide to come given the expense which is discouraging, if not prohibitive.

We aim to provide affordable and professional conducting masterclasses and workshops - a nurturing ground for conductors. Tuition fees cover only part of our costs. As a non-profit organization, we depend on the generosity of our donors to cover the remainder. “Pursuing the art of conducting comes with costs. There is a heavy investment of time and effort in learning to play an instrument proficiently and in pursuing the additional training necessary for a conducting career.” said Alicia Lieu, one of the founders of New York Conducting Institute. “There is also a financial cost to dedicating one's life to becoming a professional musician. e.g. purchasing scores, tuition and travel costs to classes and workshops, fees for private teachers, and the time away from more lucrative activities. We strongly feel that offering need based scholarships will allow conductors to participate in workshops that they might otherwise not be able to afford.”
